Chris Daughtry is more than your average singer. Born on December 26, 1979 in Charlottesville, Virginia, Chris played the role of husband and father before becoming a major recording artist. He began singing at age 16 and soon formed his own local rock band before heading off to Denver many years later to audition for "American Idol".

America fell in love with Chris right away and he soon became a favorite among millions of fans each week by giving steller performances that even made Simon Cowell applaude with approval. With his amazing vocal skills and charismatic attitude Daughtry was voted as a top finalist on "American Idol" season five. Although he did not win the competition Chris has risen all the way to the top of the Billboard charts with his new self titled CD, "Daughtry" and his music video for "It's Not Over" has risen to the top of both the VH1 and MTV video coutdowns.

He's come along way from his humble beginings of working 9 to 5 at a car dealership. Now, at the young age of 26, he is a major recording star who will likely become an icon in the music industry.
